Video Capture Devices with HDR support

Starting with OBS 28.0, users are able to record and stream in High Dynamic Range (HDR). When capturing from an external source such as a console this requires the device to support a 10-bit format such as the P010. This page contains a non-exhaustive list of supported devices that have been tested with OBS on Windows and verified to work with HDR.

Note that capturing HDR video from devices is only supported on Windows at this time.

The following OBS Certified devices are supported:

  • ASUS CU4K30
  • ASUS 4KPRO
  • EVGA XR1 Pro

The following other devices have been tested and are known to work:

  • AVerMedia Live Gamer 4K (GC573)
  • AVerMedia Live Gamer ULTRA (GC553)
  • AVerMedia Live Gamer Extreme 3 (GC551G2)
  • Elgato 4K60 Pro Mk.2
  • Elgato 4K60 S+
  • Elgato 4K Pro
  • Elgato 4K X
  • Elgato HD60 S+
  • Elgato HD60 X

All devices were tested with the latest firmware and drivers (where applicable), if you're experiencing issues please make sure you have updated them first!

Other devices may work, but many consumer level devices do not have support for capturing HDR. Professional level devices (e.g. Magewell, AJA, Blackmagic Design) should support 10-bit capture.
