Hi guys,

Which settings do you recommend for OBS recording Zoom video calls ? I have noticed it is lagging...

My computer is Dell XPS 15 9560

I was using Display capture and not Zoom window...

Many thanks!

You may want to use two audio tracks, one for the desktop and one for your mic, otherwise you won't capture your own mic.

Use the settings rc=constqp qp=25

If that's too low quality for you, set it to 20 which will increase bitrate. Or you could go as high as 30 for much smaller files

I also suggest setting color to 444 so that every pixel is captured in full color. That's what I use for game recording

If Nvenc is too slow, it may be because of some conflict due to all the video going through the Intel graphics. I've had weird slowdowns myself and sometimes had better luck with Quicksync instead of Nvenc. But I reinstalled Windows and haven't experienced that since

set process prio to normal

set your energy saving settings to full power !

and use CQP for recording not CBR

I noticed still a little bit of lagging when I move my mouse while doing a Videocall on Zoom and recording at the same time... Do you know what can it improve them? Many thanks!

The audio is the trickiest one. You have to make sure you have multiple tracks enabled in your Recording tab. I have 1 and 2 enabled. Then you have to assign those. Right click the Audio Mixer with the colored decibel graphs and choose Advanced Settings. Then assign your audio sources to track 1, track 2, etc

Or you may want to record all audio to track 1 and then have 2 and 3 be separate versions. Like this:

That way if you play it back in a regular video player, you get all the audio. But they'll still be separate on track 2 and 3 if you need to adjust them independently or remove one

I updated Zoom and OBS to their latest versions it seems better but they are still lagging... Do you think it could be due to Bitdefender or other software interfering ? Many thanks!
