Hi, I am trying to understand what is happening with a youtube streaming we do (from OBS last version) each sunday. The streaming takes about 60-70 min. sometimes it works fine, other times it stops with no clear reason, always around 20 min after starting.
I tried:
* checking the internet connection for momentary failures (by using a continuous speed test for 24 h) - it seems to be fine, having at least 5 mbit upload speed, and it is a "hybrid" connection, using load balancing between a DSL and a LTE connection.
* tested what happens with the computer (it seems no overloading happens)
* tested the lan connection (from computer to router, and eliminated all intermediary elements, by connecting directly to the final router-modem (the one that does also the load balancing) and eliminating a firewall by zyxel and a switch.
My problem: it is very curious why this happens, as we sometimes have no problem at all, and other times it stucks at around 20 min after the streaming start.
Youtube shows that it tries to reconnect (wait for the OBS to reconnect) and waits forever. (After 10-20 minutes of sucessless waiting, we shut down the stream).
If the streaming stops, we cannot manage to reconnect it. Even if youtube is still waiting for reconnecting, OBS does not want to reconnect (or someway the connection does not come into being). If we stop the streaming, initate a new session in youtube, then we can reconnect with OBS. But it does not work in the same streaming session, once OBS lost connection.
The reconnect options in the advanced settings of OBS are:
wait 0 seconds to reconnect. Retry 20 times. (were set like this by a colleague who is our specialist in this matter).
Thanks in advance for any recommendation or help!
