I have a problem with OBS I don't understand and I am completely out of ideas about what exactly is happening. Therefore I have no idea how to describe it properly. I used OBS for quite some years without any problems. Suddenly in September last year I noticed that I cannot use the Twitch Export without a desync on Youtube any more. My streams were / are always around 4 to 8 hours long. The desync of audio and video first happened seemingly random after ~ 1 or 2 hours already. The audio lags behind for a few seconds (1-3 seconds) for the remaining part of the video and does not noticeable increase. Those problems only appear after uploading it to Youtube (manually or with the export function). Since I also had a lot stuff to do and didn't find the time to continue streaming I thought it is maybe going to fix itself over the time. Over the timespan of the last 5 months I got a new PC (Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 now) + internet connection, I had to reinstall OBS and set it up multiple times with the help of the guides here and on Twitch. The problem remained exactly the same. Every time when I record a video that is multiple hours long the following things happen:
1) The raw material created with OBS is seemingly fine. There is no desync. I can play it with the Windows Media Player as well as the VLC without problems. I can also import it into video editing tools like e.g. blender without any problems. The past broadcasts on Twitch work. The stream on Twitch has no desync.
2) Uploading it to Youtube creates a desync. It doesn't matter if I use the export function of Twitch or upload it manually. As long as the video is only viewable in 480p or less, there is no desync. When Youtube finished the work and the video is available in 720p or higher the desync exists.
This is incredible weird because it is the same problem for two completely different systems. I have the feeling that there is just a single setting in OBS on definitely the wrong spot, but I just cannot figure out what it is. Thanks in advance for reading and every possible help.
