So I'm running a first gen i7 that is having troubles keeping up when encoding and playing games at the same time. I thought I'd take use of Nvenc to put some load off of it but after some head scratching I'm just having problems to get anywhere, maybe it's something I overlooked and I almost hope so because this is driving me up the wall, also why you see me posting here. Hi by the way! :)
I'm currently running a GTX 670 with the drivers 364.51, and OBS 0.657b but Nvidia Nvenc is greyed out for me, I've been trying to do some jumping between graphic card drivers, snatching .dll files and putting it in my OBS folder(that apparently shouldn't even be needed) and that junk but it's not really happy still.
I just want to get some benefit so I can record some video in newer titles without punching a hole in my wallet since the system is still quite capable to me gaming wise. Is there anything I have missed or I can do that can enable the option to use Nvenc for me in OBS?
(If it is of interest, Geforce experience doesn't show the shadowplay tab to me when using the gui, but if I make a shortcut and set the launch options to "-shadowplay" I can run it, and it records gameplay just fine).
Any help greatly appreciated, thanks!
