Question / Help XCOM EU - Weird Selective Echo

So, I've been recording XCOM EU.

Everything works great, but there's this weird selective echo, and when I say selective, it means only these things are on echo:

- In game unit voices
- Sound effects
- Videos

But the following has no problems at all:

- My own voice
- Game background music

Anyone with such issues before?

had this issue with Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon one time, found the cause was the CPU kept going to 100% due to antivirus doing a random scan, might not be related but just figured I'd put when I faced this issue before.

hmm thanks, I don't have any anti-virus programs and it's a constant thing, but I'll keep a lookout for errant cpu hoggers I guess

Update.

It's the headset mic picking up the sounds from the headset.

lol. lame.

Update. I just tested a recording without the mic. echo still present

I fixed it by not using the mic on my Creative Recon3D omega at all.

So, it's not a problem with OBS, but with the stupid external soundcard/headset combo...
