Xbox to PC Twitch stream black screen

I have my capture card plugged into the back of my xbox series x and then I run the HDMI cable to my laptop. I start up my Twitch stream inside OBS and the screen is black inside the app and also when I pull up the stream on twitch the screen is black as well. My laptop is runing Windows 11 Version 22H2 OS Build 22621.1344

You have it hooked up backward The capture device gets plugged into the USB on the laptop with the HDMI out of the device to be captured plugged into the capture device You then create a new source in a new scene in OBS where you select the USB capture device The image should show in the settings preview

The series X only has 1 HDMI port. So Would I just need to get an hdmi splitter or something to be able to connect the hdmi from the capture device and the other hdmi to my gaming monitor???

Yes Otherwise you have to play by the OBS preview or projector Which would introduce a good amount of lag for game play

So I got this HDMI Splitter. So I plug my capture device into usb on my laptop. Do I plug the HDMI cord into the capture device and run it to the input on the splitter? Then use output 1 to run an hdmi to my monitor and output 2 to run the hdmi to my xbox????

Okay So I did hdmi from xbox to input on splitter. Then the monitor to output 1 and the capture device from my laptop to output 2 on the splitter. But when I open up OBS i see this....
