Hi guys.

After some days trying to find a good cheap solution to be able to use my PC to stream on OBS with an ELGATO (HD60) and the picture of the xbox one s, I wanted to be able to only use ONE headset to hear the sound from the xbox one s and from the pc.

For the moment I am using a small headset from the xbox controller and then I put the big headset above my head to hear sounds from the pc.

I found that video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q7_kQwoJtA8

It explains what to use and how to connect to the xbox control and also for the pc.

I cannot find the type of cable proposed in that video : the 3.5 1 female to 2 x male ( headset headset ).

Could someone help me to understand how to do the best system to be able to use my Syberia V2
https://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-Siberia-200-Gaming-Headset/dp/B015WKYI50

to hear sounds from the console and from the pc at the same time ? ( streaming from obs on the pc ).

Thank you for your help guys !

ps: I also heard about Voicemeeter...Could that help ?

You need a mixer or some other way of combining the audio streams if you have audio you want to listen to being actually output from your PC.

A mixer or some other way. Oki...

Could you tell me if the software I was speaking about could make the work ? : Voicemeeter ?

Otherwise, could you show me a type of mixer I could buy please ? Thx

Another option would be to just set the capture card to output to desktop in OBS, then you don't need the headset connected to your xbox at all (unless you're trying to do voice chat, then things get complicated and nasty).

Uhm not sure to understand exactly the manipulation to do ( set the capture card to output to desktop ( you mean in the audio setup? ))

I am not doing voice chat ;-) I record my voice with the pc ( speaking with friends on discord ) ( what I want absolutely is the sound from the game in my headset ( in addition to the sound from the pc to hear follow alerts and so one )

And just to be precise on my settings :

I play in my living room on my 4K HDR TV with the XBox one S. The elgato is connected with that TV and a computer next to it ( that runs obs to launch the stream on twitch ).

The screen of the pc ( I use to see the chat, the alerts ), the keyboard and mouse are next to me ( on the coach ).

Oki Fenrir I see what you are talking about in the options :

I will test that asap and will tell you if it works.

@vburel : of couse I already watched videos but I did not find any with a setup like mine ( playing xbox with picture on tv ) + pc for stream with obs and elgato to make the link between the 2.

Come back later to give you news.

Oki I used the waveout to desktop and it allows me to get the xbox one S sound into my headset. So basically now it is working ( I have the sound of the pc and the sound of the console )

I only have to lower the sound in the game in order to get it correctly into OBS.

Now I have a delay ( sound coming from the game and sound I have in my headset ) but I already saw some tutos in youtube about it ( 2 seconds delay to modify into obs ).

I will try that and I am also purchasing the specific cable I need ( to avoid those manipulations )

Yup, seems like you're on the right track! The delay stuff will just have to be tuned for your specific device.

I come back after some tests.

So with the waveout to desktop, I can hear the xbox sound in my headset. I have made the changes to deal with the delays ( webcam - microphone - elgato and audio sound : 2000 ms ) Like this when I watch the stream after doing it, everything is correct.

2 remarks :

1) My follow, hosting, donation alerts are working but the picture that comes directly on the stream get the sound delay with the alert ( so the picture comes direct, and the sound 2000 ms later ). The only way I can see to fix it is to add 2 sec for the picture I created in order to be ok.

2) Even with this 2000 ms delay, and the waveout to desktop set up in obs, I can hear IN MY HEADSET that there is a small delay compared to the sound coming from the tv ( I can get used to it but it is not 100% Synchro ).

PS : @Fenrir : can you tell me, initially how those set up are done... I mean when you use a console, a pc, obs, and a PC ( headset / mic ). Is there something special to do in the console audio setup ? I read ( and did not try yet ) that the digital output should be digital stereo ( I don t know if that could get me the opportunity to hear the console sound in my headset ... ) The Game Capture Software from Elgato is working perfectly ( I have sound and video ). It is only when I close that software and opens OBS that there was nothing and had ( thanks to you ^^^) to use the waveout option to hear it in my headset.

Maybe I need to buy an astro mixamp pro to do that ?

Thanks for the support ! I am still looking at the best solution to make everythingwork 100%
