I am trying to record XBox One party chat through the Aux Line from my controller > ElGato HD60 Aux Line input > OBS. OBS still only captures in game audio though. Is there a setting that I need to change/make in OBS to use the Aux line v. the default HDMI output of the capture device?

I followed the steps provided by El Gato to capture XBox party chat via the stereo adapter with XBox One controller and the Aux line into the El Gato HD 60.

Did you, instead of doing the settings in the elgato software, do the settings through the configure video option in the video capture device properties in obs?

No? Can you walk me through where I need to make these changes in settings? Under video v. audio? Is this under settings up top or under setting of the capture source?

So I went home and fiddled some more. I found that you cant simply click configure you must be previewing the stream/actively broadcasting/recording. I was able to hit configure though and then check the use the aux line. I fiddled some more and found that the volume was very faint.

I found the volume setting and cranked it to max and tried recording but the audio is very very low still. My question now is how do I turn the volume up from the controller stereo adapter and party chat up to an acceptable capture/stream audio?

Any additional help someone can provide me on getting the volume to be louder so audience can hear on twitch or recording? I am going to plug in another headset into the aux port when I get home just to make sure I am getting the proper volume and its not some quality issue between the stereo splitter.

So i plugged another headset into the audio output of the splitter and everything sounds fine (unless its the audio cable itself being the issue) so it should be outputting fine. Really would appreciate some guidance or troubleshooting suggestions.

Yeah i bought the cable from elgato as well and ive never been able to get chat either using their setup. Ive been using the kinect to get chat to obs. Seems like false advertising....
