x264 fast vs. NVENC

I've been doing some tests to see how much my computer can handle while streaming, and based on that, I determined I can go up to x264 at the fast preset. However, NVENC also works fine, and I can't figure out a good way to determine which one produces better results. I have an RTX 2070 SUPER, and stream at a bitrate of 6500. Based on that information, does anyone know which is better, or perhaps a good way I could test it to directly compare them?

Thanks!

Hmm, so I'm actually not sure this was correct, or at least not for the RTX 2070 SUPER graphics card specifically to outclass x264. I just did some tests with the game I've been playing (Dragon Quest XI), and while the quality is acceptable both ways, it seems that NVENC blurs out background objects that the x264 does not.

Could be some peculiarity with my particular laptop, not sure, but it seems from my testing that x264 provides a marginally better image than NVENC from my RTX 2070 SUPER.
