Hi Guys!

First time posting so sorry if i miss something!

I seem to have trouble streaming with the x264 encoder, i have be been dropping a number of frames due to what the OBS stats window says is a network issue and apparently doesn't stall due to encoding or and gpu relate issues. this seems to happen no matter what bitrate or cpu presets i use.

However when i then use the nvidia encoder i drop zero or like 10 frames and the stream looks fine, any idea? its driving me crazy so please let me know if you need me to try anything.

Specs-
Ryzen 1700
gtx 980ti
16gb ram

Game-
Destiny 2

why did you change b-frames to 0 in nvenc? pls dont spam changes to stuff randomly

your connection is dropping frmaes, test it with https://r1ch.net/projects/twitchtest and change ingest

I realise that was probably a bad log, i just quickly swapped it over while i had 0 dropped frames on Nvidia encoder.

when running the twitch test it shows no problem with bandwidth or ping, quality is ok as well. i have also tried updating drivers and things like that like the other post suggests.

Thank you for the suggestions but i just dont understand why i only drop frames with x264 and its not because of encoding or rendering, its due to network?

its due to network?

But this only happens on x264!!!! this is why i am confused!

Been having the same issue with my new Ryzen build too. I posted another thread about the exact same issue. I have solid internet as well and have tried all the common fixes (Game mode disabled, internet test, lowering bitrate, changing servers, etc).

I haven't had time to fully test this yet but i think maybe twitch is having a bad time aswell not helping? With all the same settings i can stream tk YouTube fine... which is upsetting. Because YouTube
