This isn't my main pc but i got a gateway intel core i3-2130 with 6 gigs of ram and windows 7 on it from a family member(they were just about to send the thing to Goodwill lol). idk much about the i3s so im wondering if it would be able to stream and record stuff with a live gamer portable connected to it?

mostly asking because im wondering if it's worth turning this thing into a recording/streaming/hbo go pc. can also see potential with a 2 pc set up :)

At a basic level, yes. But not at HD resolutions... the i3 line is a bargain-basement price range for a reason. If it has QSV support on the CPU and mobo it might make it a little easier, but that thing is probably going to creak and wheeze even at an Ultrafast preset (read: really crappy video quality) to make 720p@30fps.

With a LGP connected, it might make an OK encoder box if you don't want to take your consoles over to your main gaming system, but the only way to really know will be to test, and see how far it can go. I'd call it potentially viable for a starter portable encoding box for console gameplay. Maybe.

doh was hoping for 720p 30fps hehe. I might try it out just to see ,though. was hoping the pvr would reduce the resources some :)
