Ahoi fellow OBS users,

I am currently having a hard time figuring out what is wrong with my OBS settings. I have recently moved to a different flat and got a new pc; so things have changed drastically since I streamed last time.

What my viewers are experiencing is stuttering and sometimes large frame drops.

I am trying to include all the information that you might need:

My Internet connection:
- Download: 70 MB/s
- Upload: 15 MB/s

My Computer:
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z87X-D3H
CPU: Intel Core i5 4670K
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 3.5" SATA-III 1TB
SSD: Samsung EVO 256GB
Adaptor: Seasonic S12II-620 Watt
RAM: 8GB Crucial

I attached my latest OBS log.

I largely appreciate any help/advice you are willing to give me. What I have tried already is testing my settings on the OBS Log Analyzer, which did not find any issues at all.

Thank you in advance.
Best regards

Maybe frame drops aren't the words you are looking far as I see 0 duplicate frames or encoder lag. are you talking about buffering on the viewer side? https://obsproject.com/forum/thread...oads-constantly-for-my-viewers-but-why.18465/

a few things, set your hearthstone windowed mode size to 1920x1080 to properly get captured ratio and capture size. don't resize it as this will affect the quality of your capture.

hearthstone is not a high movement game, you don't need that much bitrate. set bitrate/custom buffer to 2000 at most.

your fps aren't going to sync with much of anything I would either to 48fps or 60 (you could even do 54fps funny enough). 50 will not look good on 60hz monitors.

These are settings centered around the game you are playing. for high movement games, the same settings wont look as good.

Thank you very much.

Yes, you are probably right about the frame drop thing. Buffering on the viewers side is the way better diagnosis. I am going to read the guide you posted and try to adjust my settings accordingly.

I sometimes stream League of Legends and WoW Arena as well, which is why I originally set my bitrate as high as it currently is. Should I change it every time I change the game I am playing?

I will definitely lower my fps to 48. I was not aware that 50 fps looks bad on 60hz monitors.

What settings would you recommend for high movement games, such as LoL and WoW?

LoL and Wow are not high movement games as they are top-down 3d and third person respecively. for 720@48, 2500-3000 should be enough. for HS, you could actually go as low as 1500 since almost nothing moves.
