Question / Help Workaround for no sound with capture card

I got one of these guys for cheap from dx
https://dx.com/p/usb-video-audio-captur ... ite-113103
but the only way I could get the audio to work was to record the dvr window so it would play the sound but I found a much better workaround, mostly common sense but maybe it'll help somebody. I just ran a rca to 3.5mm aux y cable with a coupler on the rca end and plugged the audio directly into my LINE IN on my computer and it works perfectly!

Console video -> capture card
Console audio -> rca coupler -> rca to 3.5mm ->LINE IN on pc

Edit this would also work without a coupler

Actually, I've added support for using custom audio sources for capture devices to the DirectShow plugin, it'll be in either the next test or main release. If you wish to check it out and test it in the meantime, I have a 32-bit build of the updated plugin on my web server, here: http://www.apehead.se/dshowplugin_32.zip

You might have to use one of the recent test versions for the plugin to work, so grab test 11 if you feel like trying it out.
