If you have only a single display and you are capturing the desktop while OBS is frontmost, this is what you will see.
If you want to capture a desktop with OBS open and visible and NOT capture OBS, you need a second display.
Otherwise, just configure hotkeys to control OBS, and minimize it before you start streaming.
The above behavior is normal.
