Post-Edit: Yes I do know that there's this sticky thread here but it's more likely a "bug report" now than a "Hey you guys need to fix this instantly." I know that developing stuff isn't easy especially when critical architectures changed from one Windows to another Windows version ;)
Post-Edit 2: Just tried it on the "so called fix" on the Multiplatform version. Same result.

Hello there fellow Open Broadcaster Software peps!

Before we start have some...
Specs: i7 3770k, NVidia GTX970 OC with latest drivers (also tested with Beta drivers, currently on 358.91), 16GB RAM
... and since I'm not a forgetful person, of course a log too. https://gist.github.com/anonymous/675e2abb90b05c92eae4

For the last hour or so I've experimented with OBS on Windows 10 a bit more and stumbled upon a really, really weird thing... Whenever you try to open a windows hardware accelerated menu, as example the start menu, while capturing the screen you're opening it on the whole system will freeze for a couple seconds before returning back to normal.
Funny enough this is not happening when running accelerated games at all. I've tested this already but it's not in the test-stream I'll post later in this entry here.
Further reading my own text here (after finishing writing everything else) could this probably be a thing with DirectX 12 which Windows 10 introduced and, as far as I remember, uses for all of its menus/Metro apps now?

My system specs are far enough capable of streaming in 1080p at 30 FPS and encoding via NVENC, I had no trouble whatsoever when I still had Windows 8.1 back a few months.
This is a freshly installed copy of Windows 10 x64 Pro btw., only a couple weeks to max. one month old.

I've tried all of the mentioned things above on a test-stream over on Twitch which you can see here: http://www.twitch.tv/epiclper_stream/v/25634917
Whenever you see a little stream-hiccup, like as example that it's just not doing anything (except I'm doing something on my second screen) my system indeed froze, you can even hear the music dropping out at some point shortly. Just watch the Stereo Mix bar on OBS in the background and you'll see.

PS.: I'm not sure if this should be moved to the Bugs section since it's clearly a bug and not normal, especially on a freshly installed Windows 10...

Windows 10 newly upgraded with an i7 4790k and GTX 970. I am considering going back to windows 8 because not only is windows 10 annoying and has a start menu that never works but OBS wont work with it. Every time I use Monitor capture the start menu causes my entire PC to freeze, this means when I stream I am forced to use game capture and full screen which causes big lag tabbing out.

Not enjoing windows 10 and it definitely doesnt work with monitor capture
