Question / Help Windows 10 OBS Display Capture not working

Hello all,

I'm trying to get OBS to capture either of my existing displays, but despite having set OBS to use the Intel GPU in both the NVIDIA Control Panel AND the Windows 10 Display settings -> power saving trick, I'm still getting no display. Log file: https://obsproject.com/logs/_MnEHrt_gppJ_dIH

You do not have it set correctly in the Win10 settings. The nVidia control panel method is deprecated as of W10 1903 onward (you are on 1909). Here's a link to how to select the GPU for OBS to use:

Please be aware that Display Capture should be avoided if at all possible, and only used as an absolute last resort. It's the least-performant capture method, and has significant drawbacks, including potentially causing render and encoding lag.

As I mentioned in the OP, I've also set OBS to use power saving mode and it doesn't work. If display capture isn't advised, how best to broadcast a screen?
