Question / Help WINDOWS 10 OBS CRASH

Hi there,
I have crashes after Windows 10 Creators Update, can you help me?
Sending crash log

AMF encoder is crashing, which is part of the AMD drivers. Make sure those are up to date, or use a different encoder until the AMF plugin can be updated.

There is a question, how can I change the encoder when I can't access the OBS because it crashes when I try to lauch it?

In this File Basic.cfg
Location: C:\Users\NAME\AppData\Roaming\obs-studio\basic\profiles\PROFILNAME

Encoder=obs_qsv11 = quicksync
Encoder=ffmpeg_nvenc = nvidia based gpu renderer. its like your AMF encoder
Encoder=obs_x264 = x264

Or after a fresh Install of OBS i think.

In my case there is no .cfg file, there is only .ini file.
When I open it up, there's no lines with encoder like you showed me.
There is another line for encoding like that:

FilePath=D:/Filmy
RecFormat=mp4
RecQuality=Small
RecEncoder=amd
FileNameWithoutSpace=true

So I don't even know what I need to change.

Anyway, I'll try to clear up whole previous install and try fresh one.

you can try rename the whole basic folder. obs should write a new one in this directory with default settings.

tried that, it's giving an empty file that's all

thats correct. obs settings are reset in this case. but obs should open with the default encoder selected, the x264.

Is the application writes something in log-file? Can you post it too? Locate it manually: Please post a log with your issue! Here's how...

Well, it do not open, it crashes. Like I said, it happend after creators update
Getting again a log file with clear setting

I mean, casual log not the cash-log. Just to see where application stops its startup. Then you can disable (if this is case) the problematic library (Added second monitor, OBS now crashes upon startup or OBS crashes on startup).

Try to move obs-plugins\64bit\enc-amf.dll file to any other folder on your PC (that prevents AMD AMF plugin from load into OBS Studio).

Any changes?

current AMF Encoder of OBS maybe broken due to AMDs AMF Encoder Updates for 17.4.1 and 17.4.2 -> AMD is constantly working on that -> https://github.com/GPUOpen-LibrariesAndSDKs/AMF

Thanks both of you, for now i tested moving the AMF plugin out- IT WORKED
Now I'll test out that Xaymars AMF Encoder

one more time, thanks not much communities are helping each other

Xaymars AMF Encoder cause crash again so
I think I'll just get out that encoder and wait until OBS or AMD will figure something out
So I think, we can close the thread

Maybe installing previous GPU driver will help? for example 17.2.1??

u need 17.4.1 for 1.9.9.11 and 17.2.1 for 1.4.3.11 (afaik)

Just a note that the plugin that is shipping with OBS is Xaymar's plugin.

So here is the deal, I need a link for 17.4.1 because on AMD website thete is only for 17.4.2 and 17.2.1
I'll try to find that driver by my self
So I'll let you know if something will change

So, previous drivers (17.4.1) doesn't work. I quess it's Windows 10 Creators Update fault.
I have problems not only with OBS but with Vegas Pro 14 too

i did move obs-plugins\64bit\enc-amf.dll to another folder, but i still can't open obs 64bit (only 32bit works, but the 32bit version doesn't help me at all, need the 64bit)
