Question / Help Windows 10: Desktop Audio not working

I'm using my outboard Focusrite 2i2 and the AISO driver that came with it to stream audio production. I have the Focusrite set as my "default" device in the Windows control panel. I can hear everything through the headphone jack on the Focusrite...the mic, the music, everything. In OBS however, even though I have the desktop audio set to "default" I get no green bar, no sound, nothing.

Looks like I can't "initialize" audio in OBS MP either. I'm using 0.13.2 on Windows 10.

To add to the mystery, my mic comes into OBS and gets recorded just fine. The music I'm playing on my DAW however...silent.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you man! I've also found this thread: https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/asio-support.4328/page-3 which is precisely the situation I'm in. I'm trying to stream Ableton Live and indeed, ASIO is the culprit. I think my next move is to try and hardwire the output from my Focusrite interface into the stereo input on my soundcard, and then use that as a mic/aux source in OBS. In theory, that should work?

WILL ASIO ever come to OBS? That would solve everything.

I think I got it...here's the basic workaround:

1.) Luckily I had one of these in my cable stash...it's basically a dual 1/4 inch instrument cable to 1/8 inch stereo jack: http://www.amazon.com/GLS-Audio-Y-C...5&sr=8-11&keywords=1/4+inch+to+1/8+inch+cable

2.) Installed the latest "Realtek Audio Driver" for my motherboard. and plugged the cable directly from the monitor outputs (1/4 inch) on the Focusrite straight into the "line in" on my motherboard soundcard. Because I installed the driver, "Line In (Realtek HD Audio)" is now an option under the Mic/Auxilary Audio Devices in OBS

3.) Had to apply a gain filter in OBS to compensate...+7db seemed to work the best.

I'm now streaming the output straight from Ableton Live into OBS...still using ASIO as my main audio driver, but monitoring the whole setup through headphones instead of speakers. Total audio hack but it's working!
