Question / Help Windows 10 black screen

So I need help with trying to record my monitor/display on my laptop, but I keep getting a black screen.
I had this problem with OBS before when I had windows 8.1, but I had fixed it after following the instructions from here:

that had fixed it in 8.1 and it worked without fail

Now after doing a clean install on the same laptop when windows 10 came out, OBS keeps displaying a black screen, even after making sure OBS is running with my nvidia gpu. Here is my log file after trying to preview the stream: https://gist.github.com/e915320b90503069c985

I would like to be able to record my entire display, and the most intensive thing I would be doing would be running photoshop and having chrome open. hope this can be solved!

You either have OBS running on the nvidia gpu and use game capture for the game or you have it running on the intel gpu for monitor capture.

okay, that was silly of me, that makes sense, thank you!
I could have sworn I had obs running on the nvidia gpu before.
