Well, I tried to specify as much as possible in the title. Now, here are the details:
  • So, I have a computer with the following specs:
    • Motherboard: Asus H97-PLUS
    • CPU: Intel Core i5-4690k (no OC, Intel HD Graphics 4600)
    • RAM: 16GB (2x8GB) running at 1333mHz (Should be able to get to 1600, but I'm almost certain they're only at 1333)
    • GPU: AMD HD 7770
    • Windows 10 Pro, 64-bit
  • I upgraded from a Windows 7 Ultimate, where I used the fake monitor trick to get QuickSync enabled. It worked perfectly fine for streaming.
  • Once I upgraded, the trick stopped working, but now I was able to use QuickSync regardless of it. It worked without flaws for many days.
  • Yesterday, I got a new monitor. I connected it to the iGPU VGA Port, as I didn't have any other free slots on the 7770 (Only HDMI, DP and a DVI-D available).
  • Since then, whenever I try to stream with quicksync, after around 5 to 10 minutes, the system freezes entirely (not just OBS), and not even the reset button responds. I have to force the power off.
  • Right before doing this post, I tried letting it frozen for a while, see what happened. It led to a BSOD, with the error: "DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION". Haven't seen anything of help about this in google...
  • Using x264, there are no crashes at all. Tested for over 40 minutes, opening different games. Nothing except a decrease in performance, but that is expected compared to QS.
  • Things I've already tried: Updating/Reinstalling (both) graphical drivers. Disabling multithreading in OBS.
Here's my latest log file. Do you have any ideas about what could be causing this? Thanks for reading.
