Question / Help Window Capture issues

Hi, I'm pretty new to OBS, I began testing things out and I ran into some problems concerning the use of window capture, when I try to capture the window I want to I get this
CWNo9gp.png

The arrows are pointed at the sub-region I am trying to select, but when I try to position the sub-region I can only shift it up and down by half a inch of my screen or so, I also cannot re-size it either.
It ultimately results to this when preview is on for the window I am trying to set as a sub-region.

As for my last problem, when I use window capture on another window, it acts like monitor capture for example if my window was in the middle of my screen, when I try to window capture that window it would instead be a monitor capture of that area that the window occupied. Windowed capture should still give viewers a live view of the window even if its minimized correct? But when I use window capture and minimize the set window, the window vanishes in the preview as well.
As an example here:

I am using window capture to capture my Skype window which is minimized, it instead captures the portion of the screen where my window would be if it was no minimized.
Not sure if I am the only one with this problem or if I'm doing something wrong, but thanks in advance for whatever help I can get.

Update/bump: I managed to fix the glitching in the second screenshot I posted, but the windows capture mode is still behaving like a monitor capture. Aero and capture layered windows are both disabled.

Would it help if i posted a log of my OBS?

Aero should be enabled for window capture. Can you post a link to your logfile from the help menu?

0,0 position should be the upper left of your screen, the sub region should be based on your window size, if full screen and your start bar is hidden, then you would just set your sub region to position: 0, 752 and size: 1366, 16. OBS is kind of odd when it comes to window capture since it doesn't use DX10 to capture. see if game capture (aka graphics capture) works better.

If you want to resize the sub-region, try putting a size value into the settings first, such as 1920x1080.

Also, I've done art streams before. Are you using Window Capture or Monitor Capture? I have had better luck using Monitor Capture, then setting a sub-region with that.

I can't remember how SAI behaved. I know Photoshop and Illustrator worked fine with Monitor Capture.

When I disable Windows Aero the entire preview is completely black.http://prntscr.com/7i70xk

Aero should be enabled, not disabled.

Oh, sorry, I meant enabled. When you say enabled do you mean the "disable aero" checkbox under the video settings right? I originally had it checked.

I've been using monitor capture for months since windows capture never worked. I'd continue using it but I want to show only my Sai window, and nothing else over it. :( I actually reinstalled OBS soon after my first post and I think(?) that got rid of the glitchiness of the first screenshot. Or I was messing with the settings, I can't remember.

If monitor capture works, and thats prerry much all you capture, then disable aero is fine. I'm just surprised that game capture isn't working.

with window capture, have you tried enabling compatibility mode in properties? that should pick up any window.

Thats with compatibility mode.
Is the issue with my computer? or is it just OBS
eek. It might be that the two 610m GPUs that show up might have some sort of version of SLI. can you check, if so, see if disabling it helps.

Sorry, how can I do that? I'm not familiar with those terms haha.
Well if it is some sort of dual gpu then going to the nvidia control panel, you should have an SLI tab to the left somewhere. If not, then OBS is just showing it as 2 GPUs.
