Bug Report Window Capture doesn't work

My friend-streamer tell me that Window Capture works like "Game Source" in Xsplit. If I choose window from list then only they must capture, and if I overlap this window with another then I must saw only source window. But on my machine this function doesn't work. If I overlap source window with another (e.g. OBS), I saw source window with a part of overlapped window :)
I use AMD HD 6850, so I think is the problem, because my friend use NVIDIA videocard and have no problem with this function.

This is a problem tied to Aero. If you leave Aero enabled, it will work properly.

I think Jim will be looking into this at some point, but right now as far as I know it's just a windows thing

Edit: Can you ask your friend if he has Aero disabled?

Hmm, that is really interesting. What operating system are you each using and which version of OBS, 32 or 64?

I had no idea it worked like that. I thought it worked simply like screen capturing and not like game source. I have Aero disabled when I use it though. Never tried streaming with Aero enabled.

We both using WIndows 7 x64 (I'm HP, friend Professional) and OBS x64 (also I'm try use x86).

But I'm tried stream with Aero and Window Capture and found that it works better than classic area capture. So this is not bug, it is feature :D

Exactly! I had no idea too. But when we talking about streaming programs we found this possibility and bug/feature/something more :)

For window capture, unfortunately when aero is not used (or disabled) it will show windows on top. There appears to be nothing I can do about it at this point, so in the next version the description will be changed to state that fact. It probably doesn't work like "game source" in xsplit in that regard.

Also, just so people know, if you use aero, it only needs to be disabled for monitor capture, not window capture. Monitor capture will cause your frame rate to drop majorly if you use aero with it. Window capture on the other hand works fine with aero (that I've seen so far).

In the future, I may add a real software "game source" that captures frames super fast directly from the game (like DXTory in fact), but it won't be for some time yet.

I have this problem. Aero is enabled, yet when I use window capture I still see overlapping windows.I have tried adding the source as both a window and global. \\

Am I doing it wrong? I followed the OBS tutorial on how to add a window capture, and as far as the tut goes, I shouldn't be seeing overlapping windows.

choosing inner vs entire window doesn't seem to do anything either. i have to use sub region to not capture the application menu
