Question / Help Window Capture Black Screen

Hey all

Ive used OBS alot during my streams and it has worked fine with Windows capture for Twitch Alerts, but recently i bought a second monitor for my laptop to make streaming easier but now all my alerts and are just black boxes, how do i go about fixing this?

Kaspersky is the most common cause for this type of problem, but if you suspect the second monitor as a cause, try disconnecting it and verify whether it's at fault.

i dont have that, so what would be a fix then?

The easiest fix would probably be to stop window capturing your TwitchAlerts and add them as a browser source instead.

ok after testing out, i've found its just Internet browsers it wont show, why is this?

Usually it's related to hardware acceleration in the browser. Chrome users run into this a lot and have to disable hardware acceleration to allow window capturing. Other times it's a problem with users running a fullscreen program that causes other background windows to stop rendering. For stuff like TwitchAlerts the browser source is the best option since it loads the content in the source itself, instead of relying on capturing an external program.
