Question / Help Window Capture - Behind other windows

I'm trying to use the window capture feature to put my twitch chat on an overlay on my stream. Whenever another window moves in front of that chat window it shows what is over that portion of the screen rather than whats on the chat window. Is there a fix for this? I have 2 monitors but sometimes it gets a bit crowded and something goes over the chat window for a while.

Hi Guys!

I'm currently having a massive problem, when I'm using window capture if any other window overlays it then the stream is feeding that through instead of the window itself.
This is happening both with capture entire screen, inner screen or a screen region so I'm not really sure what to do.

Any help would be massively appreciated but I'm fairly new to OBS so please be gentle.

Thanks in advance.

Merged your threads, you seem to have the same problem:

You are probably using Windows 7 and have Aero disabled. (Aero is the window transparency etc of Windows 7)
So make sure you are not using the Basic Theme and "Disable Aero" is not checked in the OBS Videosettings: http://jp9000.github.io/OBS/settings/videosettings.html
If your Windows Taskbar has transparency, Aero should be active and you should be able to capture windows in the background.

"Capture layered windows" and "Compatibility mode" are both unchecked in your Window Capture source?
I am a bit confused, with aero active it should work right away.

OK just had to download an updated version of OBS - Now made sure that box isn't ticked and it still hasn't fixed my problem :/
