Question / Help [Win10] Minecraft FPS Drops From 100-15 While Recording

A few weeks ago, I got a new Lenovo laptop with Windows 10. I installed all my games, and they all run around 100 FPS without recording. When I loaded up OBS and started to record, my game's FPS went down to 15 and stayed around that area.

I've tried both the x264 encoder and the QuickSync encoder. When trying to use the NVENC encoder I get an error stating I need a driver version that is lower than the one I currently have. My max bitrate has been turned down all the way to 1000 KB/s and it still doesn't change the FPS at all. I've changed the resolution from 1080p to 720p and still nothing. FPS changed from 60 FPS to 30 FPS and it still stays the same.

My Computer Specs Are:
i7-5500U CPU @ 2.40 GHz
16 Gb RAM
Nvidia GeForce 840M (If that means anything to anyone)
If there's anything else from my specs that might be needed, just let me know. This is all I know how to find.

If any of you know what is going on, please let me know! Thanks!
