Bug Report Will it ever be stable?

Just for reference, that is not a crash. A crash means that OBS itself encountered an unrecoverable error and closes the entire program because of it. What you are experiencing is connection instability. When you get the "reconnecting" message and a countdown, then OBS lost connection to the ingest server. This can be caused by a problem with the ingest server, or a problem with your internet connection. It would be helpful if you would post a log file so we can see what is happening in more detail.

Here's how to post a log file: http://obsproject.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=97

This is likely not the fault of OBS. I have personally tested it with a known good PC, connection and router and have managed over 22 hours of uninterrupted streaming. Disconnections often occur from poor connections, bad routers or 3rd party software interfering etc.

Yes, some days I stream for example yesterday 12 hours straight, today I "disconnected" after 30min but so far so good

Today downgraded to the stable version, 10min in it goes *ding* reconnecting, that was with the 64bit version, so far so good on the 32bit

I guess we were not clear enough before. This reconnecting message means that either your internet connection is dropping the connection to the server, or the server itself is dropping your connection. This is not a problem with OBS.

Yeah I got that message, but this cannot be right, I have some other streamer friends, one uses OBS aswell and other uses XSplit and the guy with OBS has same issue, guy with XSplit hasn't disconnected for weeks.

I am changing server, restarting computer, flushing DNS, restarting modem, called my ISP 2 weeks ago and switched my modem to another model, adjusting bitrates, I'm using the recommended values on your page here, I don't lag or lose connection while I am playing Diablo 3 which is a very action based game so I would feel it immediately if I did lag out, but nop it just starts reconnecting out of nowhere

I will post clear logs tomorrow, I don't know which ones to post since I got like 6 different files that was modified today, and yes I did "crash" once today after 6:30 hours

Sorry, this makes no sense at all, I can't replicate this one. Check your Internet connection.

Keep in mind xsplit silently reconnects if you get dropped, you may not even realise you're being disconnected.

I know that, but I can see on twitch that the video is a full 10 or 12 hour video instead of splits of 4-6 hours with OBS, indicating the stream crashes, also I have my streaming software on my other monitor at all times

As said previously, I have no problem with my internet connection, I don't disconnect or lag in any game or software, OBS just pops, it seem to like to do it after 6 hours of streaming, but it can be complete random, I forgot about the logs but I will stream today and provide logs if it happens again, cleared my folder in preparation

Please try to help me here, I have absolutely NO lag, no disconnects in the game or any other application I have open, I want to do some tests over night in private stream mode, any ideas?

Tried it, after 4 hours and 30 min, *ding* reconnecting, nothing else lags or disconnected

EDIT: people told me there is a LoL tournament now on twitch with 100k+ viewers, could be why. but these crashes are consistent, I tried streaming for 10 hours in the night just a black screen sending like 100KBps in 1080p, no crashes. I think the server gets throttled I send out like 4k Kbps

Since this is not a problem with OBS, there is not much I can tell you that I haven't already. However, since you continue to try to stream with absurdly high bit rates then I would recommend trying a streaming service other than twitch, since it doesn't usually handle too many streams over 3000kbps smoothly (unless you are a partner). I myself have never needed to stream with more than 2000kbps video at 1080p 30fps quality 8 and 128kbps AAC audio, which still gives me perfect quality and zero connection issues with their servers. The other option is turn down your bit rate to a more appropriate setting and/or try a different twitch server.

If this still doesn't help you out, then just maybe OBS is not for you? The fact that these connection interruptions occur at different lengths of time indicate that there is nothing wrong with the program itself and it is, in fact, a connection or bandwidth issue.

I am partnered, I have been streaming 4k Kbps before, in the XSplit days and in the much earlier alpha versions of OBS, then suddenly OBS did not cooperate with me after certain updates, though I see a new build is out so I will be testing that first for a week or so!
