Hello everyone! I've lately been wanting to start streaming, and I've finally taken the first step, and set up my OBS as good as I can do myself. I've been streaming pretty well in League of Legends, but occasionally my FPS will drop a lot, to about 100~ I should not be able to see this, but somehow I can feel a slight tearing when it happens.

My specs are:

i5 3570k 3.4GHz

Gtx 970 4GB

8GB DDR3 RAM

20/10 internet connection.

I've been trying to play around with the settings a bit, but have not yet been able to get rid of the FPS dropping.

Any help appreciated :)

Other than more upgrades, I'm not really sure what can be done about you getting "only" 100fps when streaming. What settings are you running at?

I'm not complaining about 100FPS; that would be just fine, if it would only be steady. But when it occasionally drops, I can feel it on my system at it lags for just about 2 seconds, and it feels kind of annoying, since I know it should be running with no problem.

I can't remember my settings, and I'm mot at home atm. But when I do get home, I can post my settings in here.

Thank you for your time friend.

You could try to limit your game fps to 60(or whatever #fps untill you can live with ingame) so it takes some unnoticable load from your gaming and use it for the encoding.

You're more likely to see fps drops than watching a constant lower amount of frames/sec.

I have no idea on how well a 3570k should perform on that multitasking so try to keep an eye on your cpu load whilst gaming/dropping fps whilst gaming.

But yes, post a log.

I've tried locking the fps at 60, and I still get the slight tearing now and then, but without the FPS going anywhere under 60 at any point. I think it might be my connection?
I think a 3570k should perform pretty well, but I'm honestly not sure either, maybe I should consider OC'ing?

I'm fairly new here, so I'll try and see if I can figure out how to post a log.

Thanks you! :)
