Question / Help Will external GPU help increase quality?

Hello!

Right now I'm using the CPU's onboard GPU for broadcasting. It's noticeably worse than x264, but at least I have some extra CPU left.
GPU is loaded at around 90%.

I was wondering, does getting a dedicated GPU will help with the encoding quality?

(this system is used only to encode hdmi signal from the webcam and broadcast it to youtube).

NVENC (Nvidia) will produce higher quality results than QSV(Intel QuickSync) but I wouldn't say it's enough to warrant buying a GPU just for it. That being said, a GPU will also improve your rendering time, if your onboard is pegged at 90% that doesn't leave you much for anything hardware accelerated

If you are only encoding a camera though why not use x264? Talking head as it is best desribed is fairly easy to encode, if you can do at least x264 Very Fast you'll be better off than QSV and NVENC in terms of quality
