Wierd audio issues

Hey guys so I am pretty new to OBS as a whole I have tried a couple of different guides and even mics now and I am still getting this issue.

Currently running a blue yeti and the problem is even worse.

So a brief description of the issues is that I am getting some popping/hissing sounds through my recording/streaming now the weird part is I do not get this when using any kind of in game chat or even when talking on discord. Tried several different microphone and different USB ports on my pc, i have also followed a number of guides and tutorials from the web to see if this changes anything but it hasn't as yet.

I have the log file from my last session its only short as i opened OBS and recorded a short sample of my audio:

I cannot confirm that these "hacks" will help you get around your problem. I have seen these solution posted in other forums.

1) "... For future readers, I went into OBS preferences and selected "output." In my case, I changed the recording format from mkv to mp4..." and the problem disappeared.

2) Someone else posted that they changed the video format on their video capture device in OBS from "any" to "MJPEG", and the problem disappeared.
 
Please research/read the reasons why NOT to ever record to MP4 - unless you don't mind losing the recording
I've read that MP4 vs MKV is just the wrapper around the encoding, which is the same (and therefore why letting OBS remuxing (re-wrap) from MKV to MP4 after a recording takes only seconds on my PC for a 7GB file)

Also, for testing purposes, have you removed ALL audio effects and filters?
 
Yes I have had this audio issue regardless of what type of format I'm recording to.

Also the audio issues where present from the get go before I added any audio effects/filters I have tried tinkering with it and to no avail.

Thank you for the information I tried these but unfortunately to no avail
 
I recommend you check out your log. A lot of it is fairly 'human readable' ;^)
You'll note early on the note about Core AAC not installed, which it isn't by default in Windows. There are directions out there on how to get that installed (with Pros/Cons to each approach as not installable on its own via direct installer package download from author, Apple)

From a troubleshooting perspective, having tried other ports and mics, have you tried another PC/motherboard? granted not a simple thing to do, but there is always the chance that there is a grounding or other issue in your system? Or maybe try an Audio PCIe Add-in card?
 
Thank you I mist admit I hadn't looked at the log myself, expecting it to be full of jargon I did not understand.

I have tried all 3 mics on another pc (my cousins) and they work fine, they also work fine on things like discord and in-game voice programs just not when recording so I assumed it wouldn't be a hardware issue?

The audio pcie add on card is that not like a sound card as I have one of those installed I believe it's a xonar 7.1 card of the top of my head.

To the kind individual who told me to look at my own log and basically stop being a dummy you are a godsend! issue fixed with the simple addition of the Core AAC now it works perfectly. If you are ever in the north of England my good man you earned yaself a pint!

Thanks for the offer. Though I'm something like 5,500 miles (8,600km) from you, and was last in northern England 30+ years ago. I would have been there last fall, as my daughter had planned a University year abroad to Edinburgh, but COVID-19 squashed that. So, in the years to come, I'm sure I'll be back to do to the tourist thing again in the UK (if it still exists by then ;^) and Ireland.
