Question / Help Why two Types Text Sources??

When I choose a text source I have two choices.
1: Text: (GDI+)
2: Text: Deprecated (Text Free Type 2)

Currently I use Text GDI..

My question is: Why is there two text sources to choose from and what's the difference between the two.?

GDI+ is the new one you should use. The other one is deprecated and probably removed in the future.

Why are you saying thanks? He didn't answer the question at all, he didn't say if its was faster or slower or anything like that and in my Opinion FreeType 2 is better because you can put a shadow on your text and why I am using it.

I am on a Mac, and I only see the deprecated version of it. Is that normal, or is that just me?

No, it is not just you. I am on a mac and only see FreeType as an option too. It seems like GDI+ is a Windows only thing.
