Whenever I use Discord while streaming, OBS uses 300 to 400 kbps more than usual, causing huge frame drops. I'd like to know what may cause this and how to solve it.
I usually set my max bitrate to 550 kbps, which always works fine with frame drops below 1%. I'm using NetLimiter to check the exact upload rate for each program and it shows me OBS uses around 560 kbps in practice, which is perfectly fine.
When I use Discord without OBS, it uploads at around 30 kbps. However, when I use Discord while streaming, OBS skyrockets to around 900 kbps, while Discord itself still uses only 30 kbps. Using Skype instead of Discord shows the same behavior.
Any ideas are highly welcome.
