Question / Help Why can't I record and stream at the same time using HVENC?

I want to be able to stream and record at the same time using HVENC.

It keeps giving me the error where it says I have to update my drivers.

I know for a FACT that I do NOT need to do that.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the latest Nvidia drivers multiple times...using DDU as well.

And I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling OBS as well as running it as an administrator.

Nothing works.

This is quite frustrating and just simply pissing me off right now.

It seems that there's ALWAYS something wrong with OBS.

Why can't the damn thing just work for once.

I am completely at a loss here.

Plase help anyone.

Most consumers video cards restricted to use only single instance of the HW based encoder process per device..
Doesn't that apply only to the Kepler architecture? Pretty sure I've heard Pascal can do multiples.

Most consumers video cards restricted to use only single instance of the HW based encoder process per device (it also lowers power requirements and heat dissipation - thus, the card can has higher frequencies for GPU/RAM out of the box, for example). Streaming and recording not allowed at the same time

I thought that that was only an issue with earlier versions of GTX cards.

That the 10-series 'fixed' that so that it won't be an issue...?
