Question / Help Why cant I disable Aero?

Every time i try and do Monitor Capture so i can get my desktop on my stream, it just shows up as ablack screen. I have seen 1 other person with that problem and it was solved by turning aero off? but the box to disbale it is grey so it wont let me and i dont know how im supposed to do it? can anyone help me with this problem.. OBS uses so much less cpu then XSplit so i wanna switch to this.

Why do you need to use Monitor capture? If you're on Window 7 or Vista, it is the worst capture method (but it is actually really good on Windows 8).

I'm also having problems with that. Here's my log file.

It's because you're using a laptop, laptops have to be configured properly to capture due to having two adapters. See the laptop/black screen sticky at the top of this forum. If you need help setting it up let me know.

I wouldn't recommend using monitor capture on windows 8+ laptops because there's a bug with nvidia laptop drivers which can cause it to crash.

Okay, I read it and I get it. I want to record Lord of The Rings Online. But after reading that topic, I still do not know what to do now. I'm sorry if I look like an idiot..

Select the top video adapter (whatever it is) in video settings, and make OBS.exe use the nvidia adapter in the nvidia control panel

mine does the same thing however i'm on a desktop! pls help
