Question / Help Why are some of my steam games capturing audio, while others are not?

So I'm using the newest version of OBS (regular, not studio) and I'm rather frustrated. Some games, no matter WHAT I do, will not broadcast the audio of the game, while others have no issue with it.

Here is a log of my last preview broadcast with Civ 5 > https://gist.github.com/26c0b6d6c5c257d5023440c9c7d8d9cc

As an example: games such as Mad Max, Batman Arkham Asylum and Doom have no issues with capturing my default sound, and even speakers specifically when I switch to them in the audio settings in obs. But certain other games like Bioshock 1, Civ 5 and Dishonored 1 will not detect sound from any selection I make in the audio portion of OBS settings.

To answer the usual questions before they are asked:

-I have a separate audio card plugged into my mobo pci slot. This is where my green audio jack for my speakers gets connected. If it's working for some games but not others that (shouldn't?) isn't a problem.

-Yes I have wiped both audio AND video drivers (I had another issue recently that is not connected to this) and reinstalled the ones specific to both the sound card and gpu

- I have no other issues with sound. I hear sound when broadcasting above said games, and also when I'm not broadcasting. But those specific games will not broadcast their sound in the stream. Visually they are fine. I've tried to find why only certain games would do this, but there don't seem to be any other threads. Hence why I made this post. And yes these are all steam games.

My system specs>

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit (obs is 64 bit as well)
i5-3570k cpu, 8bg ram, nvidia gtx970
sound card is a asus xonar DGX

Posting here again to bump it up as no one has addressed my problem yet. Hopefully someone will soon.

Seriously I'd like someone to at least acknowledge that they've seen this. This problem is still ongoing.
