Hi there,

I got an Intel Core i520M which should support QuickSync (see http://ark.intel.com/de/products/52229/Intel-Core-i5-2520M-Processor-3M-Cache-up-to-3_20-GHz).

My Intel HD graphics driver is up to date (as of today):

There is no additional GPU active. But I can't use or even enable it in the settings:

Even if the processor supports it, the motherboard chipset may not. This was actually quite a common occurrence from the Sandy Bridge line. If you can poke around in the BIOS and look for some iGPU settings that may help.

You can also read through this thread and see it it helps: https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/how-to-use-quicksync.82/

Additionally, here is how to enable a fake/virtual monitor that is sometimes needed to "activate" the iGPU http://www.helping-squad.com/fake-connect-a-monitor/

For me and my Sandy Bridge CPU however, I have always had to have a physical monitor connected to get Quick Sync as a selectable option, so you may need to do this as well.

@vbdkv:
Well, as all of your answers were pretty much saying "Don't use QuickSync, it's crap" I think I can live with that. But thanks anyway.
