Hello, I hope someone can give me a good advice.

Hardware:
  • Game PC
    • Capture Card ( PS3, WiiU...)
    • i7 6700
    • GTX 980
  • Stream PC
    • i7 3770K
    • GTX 960
    • nginx Server (linux)
  • Connection
    • 50/10mbit - down/upload
    • 1 Gbit local lan
I'm not partnered. Game Pc and Stream PC are connected via lan and nginx.
I want a good looking stream but I'm not sure which settings I should choose.
I don't want that people can't see the stream because of high bitrate but I want to get the maximal quality out of my hardware.

#edit:
Would 720p60 - medium preset - 2500 be a good setting?

What would you recommend?
Thank you :)

Best settings for non partnered people are 720p60fps with a max bitrate / buffer set on 2500 or 3000. It works for me with 3000, depends on day and twitchservers. If you want reach still a better quality you could use a higher cpu preset. I using for my streaming pc a cpu preset of fast. In this resolution, but i have a i7 4790k in it. You should have an overview how much your cpu use in this settings and try to fix it. If it has lost frames or stucks. The cpu usage shouldnt be higher than 60% if you are streaming. Because if your stream reach 100% which could be happening if the cpu usage goes above 80% without much moving. You could probably streaming in 108060fps but it is for me almost at the limit with veryfast cpu preset.

My 2600k / GTX 750Ti with a mild overclock can go past Medium preset at 720p40 using a capture card when streaming Planetside 2. Can't make it all the way to Slow though, although maybe it could on a slower paced game. I think you should be able to do Medium preset at 720p60 with that setup. The bitrate is up to you and won't affect your encode settings. Set it based on what your viewers can download without buffering. The default recommendation is 720p30 at 2000 bitrate with 2000 buffer, so if you want to do 60 fps instead, some additional bitrate is advisable to make it look good, but will make your stream harder to download for some people.

Becuase I run linux on my stream pc with minimal configuration I can use medium up to 900p/48.
1080p/30 and 720/60 no problem.

The default recommendation is 720p30 at 2000 bitrate with 2000 buffer, so if you want to do 60 fps instead, some additional bitrate is advisable to make it look good, but will make your stream harder to download for some people.

Theres my problem I want viewers to watch it with the best possible quality. So can I do more than the recommendation without loosing viewers because of the bitrate?

At the moment I use: Preset medium / 720p/40 / 2300 bitrate

Um... I don't know what you want me to tell you. The more bitrate you send the more odds some viewer somewhere can't download it without buffering. The best you can do is encode the bits you have as well as you can. You'll have to make your own choices on bitrate vs losing potential viewers.
