as i thought you had a lot of late frames thats why 720@60 looked quite choppy now and then

i liked the 540p settings really much in case of the quality in an fps game so if you monitored your cpu usage and still got space i'd give 540p@48fps with the medium preset a try and if you are done post a log and the vod i possible of that again just to see if the result was better the same or worse :)

http://www.twitch.tv/pinhead49/b/448172675 Heres the video on 540p@48fps with task manager included.
you can see that it almost maxed out but i had no ingame laggs.

And heres the log. I have no idea if i should use these settings or not.

thats what i thought have you tried 540@60 on veryfast preset?
i mean i only ask about those settings because at this point its all about testing stuff to get the sweetspot.

as i said the 540@30 was good but im looking for something for you which actually works with an fps game because fps games start looking really smooth at usually 48fps you might also consider to try another option with 540@48@faster preset because medium is really cpu demanding

But i can't see much differences between 48 and 30 fps.
I don't prefer FPS games, i also play mmorpgs like guild wars 2 or sport games like fifa.

yep theres a lot of difference ... if you cant see it try to watch both at the same time.

i'd say the 540@48 is your sweetspot at least in case of blacklight retribution on mmosrpgs im not sure ... you gotta try it and do a vod same with fifa.

but in my opinion as far as fps games go 540@48 is your sweetspot with those settings maybe kharay will give some input or someone else

as long as your cpu doesnt peak at 100% because the log was with the default preset and looked like there wasnt much quality loss

well the 60 fps is a way smoother feeling for the eye and much more enjoyable especially on fps games and also on high motion mmorpgs but you need actually a decent cpu gpu combination to not get late frames like you did with 720@60 but 48 is a sweetspot incase of fps for a lot of systems.

the picture itself gets worse the higher fps you stream at if your bitrate cant fix it but its at the end most of the times still a higher quality because the eye reacts different to the frames

ok, i guess my eyes are broken :D

anyway, 21:51:31: Total frames rendered: 137504, number of late frames: 43 (0.03%) (it's okay for some frames to be late) on 540p@60fps fast preset while streaming cs:s for 40 minutes. it seems ok, but i will change the preset to veryfast i guess. i'll try to find a good balance for all games.

i think 540p is a good choice, even for germany where not everyone is able to watch 720p+ streams. its better as long as i'm not partnered with twitch. just the text in some games like the chat in css is almost unreadable, that sucks, but its ok.

greetings

< :D, i got 50mbit and can upgrade to 150mbit if i want. but you know, some ppl have 6mbit down or less. :) thats the difference between cable and dsl haha

.... huh? In my eyes the 720p one looks WAAAY better. The picture quality is much, much better. I don't know what you are talking about saying the 720p one is "choppy", to me it looks smooth as butter. They both look the exact same except for the obvious fact of the 720p one has a better resolution.

PINHEAD49

a second opinion :) thank you so far. i wanna leave it 540p until i'm partnered with twitch. its not the best quality but anyway a good choice

720p one is indeed choppy. I tested a lot of my stream settings on BLR also. I've got an I5 3570K @ 4.5ghz also and the Fast Preset uses up too much CPU. The gameplay itself might be okay but the result is a choppy VOD/Stream, not from buffering but from the CPU not being able to work enough because of it's resources being capped.

If you dropped it to "Faster" Preset, you wouldn't have any issues.
