Hi, I am currently am using the following desktop to do my game streaming/recording and noticed random frame skips
Mobo: Gigabyte H97M-D3H
CPU: i5-4460
RAM: 16GB DDR3 1600Mhz
GPU: GTX 750
Storage: 1TB Seagate HDD
I didn't notice such lags in my laptop though despite having a weaker CPU
Laptop Model: P170HM / NP8170
CPU: i7 2630QM
RAM: 16GB DDR3 1600Mhz
GPU: GTX 560M (same performance as desktop GTX 260)
Storage: 250GB Crucial SSD
Recordings are done on an Avermedia Live Gamer Portable 2, recording a HDMI output from an iPad Pro (12.9 inch). OBS settings are the same.
I am quite stumped as the LGP2 works and loads much faster on the desktop due to its compatible CPU according to Avermedia. I suspect the lack of SSD on the desktop may have played a part there, but seeing that game streaming and recording focus more on the CPU, I am puzzled. I am also considering the need to upgrade the GPU to a GTX 1060 but am unsure how much will this help in my use case.
May I know which part of hardware I should focus on?
Thanks!
