When do you plan to upgrade your set up? as I said I will still have an i5 in my gaming pc so could upgrade that if you wanted to sell whenever is convenient for you!

I mean you can add me on Steam I guess. Since you live in the UK its not that much of an hassle.

Instead of what you've proposed so far, you could do this: https://www.reddit.com/r/Twitch/comments/47bzdc/budget_friendly_secondary_streaming_pc_guide

Maybe slightly more expensive, but far better results. You will need an add-on GPU as well (GTX 1050 for example).

This options isnt really available anymore. CPU is still easily obtainable but boards are gone... I even reached out to MSI/asrock/Gigabyte/Asus with no avail. Only a few really expensive Workstation Boards are still available and for that Money alone you buy better Hardware especially in the EU

Sure it is, just search for "LGA 2011 DDR3", the DDR3 bit to avoid the motherboards that aren't compatible, as they'll all have DDR4.

Here's one right off the bat: http://www.ebay.com/itm/132014331623

Every time someone who has a Sandy Bridge - era Extreme series CPU updates to a newer build, and puts their X79 motherboard on Ebay, another one comes onto the market, so its basically self-replenishing.

Now the dual-CPU boards do seem to be more around $300, but I bet could be obtained at about $200 with patience (US dollars). But to get better performance than an i7 (for encoding, not gaming), you only need 1 of those CPUs.

I actually bought an I7-2700k before you posted this @Boildown but I appreciate the post, it looks like a great system with a lot of power, I'll definitely look further into it, and if I see the parts on the market I can pick them up as I go and upgrade my streaming pc!

And as I specified in the "EU".

If you can still find a x79 Board then people usually want around 200+ for it.
