I am wanting to start streaming for fun and I am not really sure where to start optimizing my stream.

Last night I ran a test to youtube and the stream was lagging a few seconds behind. Is a few seconds bad?

How is the best way to start getting help from this forum to optimize?

I am running an Radeon RX480 and an OC'd 6700K i5 @ 4.6ghz. My internet seems to be the big issue. I only get 6mpbs upload on a wired connection.

I just need to know where to start optimizing with this setup. What information can i provide to help you all help me?

Finding YT video help was tough since not everyone uses the same encoder settings.

Thanks!

EDIT:
My Current Stream Settings:
Audio Track 1
Encoder: H264/AVC Encoder (AMD Advanced Media Framework)
"Enforce Streaming..." is checked
Rescale Output: Unchecked but 1920x1080
Preset: Indistinguishable
Quality Preset: Speed
Rate Control (grayed out): Constant CQP
Pre-Pass: Disabled
I-Frame QP/P-Frame QP: 15
Keyframe Interval: 2.00
View Mode: Basic
Debug Unchecked

No, YouTube lag is normal. You aren't going to see what's on your preview display matching perfectly in sync with YouTube. Realize there is transferring of the data over the Internet, ingesting the data, converting the data on their end to multiple resolution formats, etc. There will always be a delay. Sometimes its like 5 seconds. Sometimes it could be 10 minutes.

6Mbps is going to let you do 720@60fps. Its not going to let you do high quality 1080@60fps. For that, you need a 10-12Mbps+ of solid stable line.

Thanks for your reply. Based in that, and the fact that I am a YT noob, what settings should I use in OBS?

Also, I am set up with Mixer as well. I assume it's no better there?

Also, how can I get rid of the pixels?
