Where does OBS look for Killer NIC?

I keep getting "Killer's Software Suite is known for its poor performance and issues when trying to stream. Please download the package from the vendor's page , completely uninstall all Killer NIC items and run the installer, choosing to only install the Hardware Drivers." after analyzing. I don't have the driver or suite installed so I'm lost.

What directory/path is OBS looking at to find NIC. I've ran NIC uninstaller, searched my PC high and low and found no NIC files.

How can I fix this? Thank you!

My old Z170 had a Killer NIC. What worked for me. I kicked the Killer Suite to the curb & let windows install a generic driver, never had any issues after.

My new rig, I made sure there was no Killer (now Intel) crap anywhere on the board.

I checked my download folder on the Z170. I still have Killer Suite Uninstaller v1.0.2020.0212 that I used when I kicked it to the curb. I uploaded it to We Transfer if you would like to give it a shot.

I don't know why my computer doesn't install a generic one... always the Killer Nic, idk how to stop it from doing it.

There should have been directions with the un-installer & it should have installed the "stub" driver as well. It's been over 3 years since I used it & since Intel now owns Killer I guess the app is somewhat limited to just the un-install at this point.

I found drivers for the E2600. After the driver is downloaded. Disconnect your PC from the internet & then un-install the suite. Re-boot & install the driver. After that's done re-connect to the internet.

These were the directions that used to work with the un-installer.

Killer Software Uninstaller assists in the uninstalling of all Killer Performance Suite services as well as any associated file and registry remnants.

Run the Killer Software Uninstaller tool, then select the option to Remove Killer Software. When it is finished, it will then instruct you that a restart is required. Don’t restart just yet! You will need to click Disable Killer From Windows Update. The application will install a “stub” driver that emulates an updated version of the Killer Control Center, so that any updates pushed by your machine or motherboard manufacturer, through Windows Update, will not install as they will perceive the blocking driver as a later version of the Killer Control Center.

Now you can restart your machine.

Killer Software Uninstaller recommended usage:

  • Uninstall the Killer Performance Suite (AKA Killer Software) from Control Panel > Programs & Features
  • Run the Killer Uninstaller Software then let it scan for Killer software (1st button), then hit Remove Killer Software
  • Optional: you can click the 3rd button as well to Disable Killer Software from being reinstalled by Windows Update
