Hey everyone,

I have never had this issue before and has only started occuring today, whenever I load up into a game, the obs will heavily drop frames and lag whilst the game stays fine (not in obs)

I am curious if anyone else is having this issue and if they have a potential fix for this, I am streaming at 3500 @ 30

thank you very much

There are no streaming/recording sessions in this log, could you check your recent log output and find the one from that 7-8 minute session?

I see this in one of the logs:

15:32:34.094: [game-capture: 'Games'] init_hook_info: user is forcing shared memory (compatibility mode)
15:32:34.119: [game-capture: 'Games'] d3d11 memory capture successful

Make sure the multi-adapter compatibility option for your game capture source is disabled.

This has seemed to work to be honest, must have hit the button by mistake when configuring with settings etc....

thank you for your help I appreciate it !!

okay, after testing it for a bit more (still only on 1 game) it seems to go back to like 5 / 10 FPS whilst on fullscreen mode when I got to borderless it goes to like 45 and not the full 60 I have it set too,

I haven't streamed it yet so I can't get a log but if it helps I can turn on the stream for 5 minutes or so and upload the newest log, (if that would help)

Here is the latest log upload, (still not working) decided to not work after I said it did, :(

Hopefully you can get more information from this

16:34:15.757: Output 'simple_stream': Number of lagged frames due to rendering lag/stalls: 1823 (34.9%)

Looks like your GPU is getting overloaded. Try enabling vsync or some other form of FPS limit so there's some free resources left for OBS to run.

Unfortunately that did not seem to work, I am not sure why this is not working and that my GPU is getting overloaded, I did just upgrade a new mobo and PSU which are newer and better builds then last time. Seems a bit odd to be honest

Vsync only caps to the monitor's refresh rate. Do you have a 120/144Hz display? If so your GPU could still easily be having difficulty. What kind of FPS do you get when OBS isn't running?

Yes I have a 144hz monitor,

Whenever I am playing a game without obs 95% of my games I am easily going above 100fps without any drops,

these games include csgo PUBG and also battlefield 1

Yeah, you'll want to start the cap at something like 60. Your GPU isn't going to consistently drive that 144 Hz display without maxing out.

I will try that now i am just confused as I have upgraded my PC not downgraded and it seems to be overloading.

Will report back on the results of going back to 60hz

Unfortunately it still has the same issue on 60hz with Vsync enabled, I am lost for words now on why all of a sudden now it doesn't want to work, I don't know whether reinstalling OBS will work or not????

If I uninstall and reinstall OBS will I lose all my scenes and settings or will the stay?

No, your settings/scenes/profiles are stored separately from the application, reinstalling won't affect those (though I don't imagine it will correct the issue either).

So I just made a separate scene with just the game and it seems to have fixed the issue,

Most of my overlays are animated so that could potentially be overloading and causing it to lag??

when I am back in going to move everything one by one and see when the point of lag begins

It could also be a specific source that's broken or causing the performance issues as opposed to the overlays in general. Try duplicating the scene collection and deleting sources one by one to see if it's a specific source that's crapping out.

I already started doing this and any soruce which has some sort of video / animation it will do it,

I added it one by one such as my webcam, webcam overlay and bars which have the top tipper etc.... all lag when I do it,

and that is with just the webcam and game or just webcam overlay and game,

so it seems as if video sources is what messes it up
