When using local recording is there a way to just capture said scene without black background?

I want to capture a window, but every time I do capture it a black background is behind, I am guessing this is due to the "size" of the stream?

Is there a way to only capture a window without it being fullscreen?

It happens either because the window is a different size than your scene, or because your scene isn't using a 16:9 aspect ratio. Do you see any black bars in the OBS preview, or only on your Youtube uploads?

It's not black bars, it's the background, it doesn't just record a section I want or window.

I am guessing this is, because like I said, the entire monitor size.

See all the black space?

edit: first video wasn't done with obs, this one was

That video looks like you're using a monitor capture source (since the taskbar is also captured) and...I don't know, cropped it, and didn't expand it to fit your scene. Isn't your issue with window capture, and not monitor capture?

I am using monitor capture, but you are right "fit to screen" seems to make it cover the entire screen on obs.
