Question / Help When tabbing into game OBS FPS drops from 60 to 15-20

I have a i7 7700k and a geforce 1080 8gb card ive been using the same settings for weeks while streaming pubg, I deleted my game capture source last night while setting up with stream elements and I added it back today prior to steaming and when I tab in my FPS drops from 60 to about 15-20 in OBS while my game stays 120+ FPS. I had this same problem the other week and I made one small change and it fixed it I just cant remember what it was. Can anyone help me

Settings:
x264 encoder
Bitrate 3200
Res 1920x1080 downscaled to 1280x720
Frames 60
