Question / Help When streaming I get really bad game FPS.

Hello,

I am trying to stream Call of Duty Black Ops 4 using OBS or Streamlabs OBS. I'm pretty sure that I'm doing the correct settings that I've been told by information but when I put the stream on my game starts to lag really bad and my fps just loses a chunk. When not streaming I get around 120 fps but it goes down to 30-40fps when stream is on. I've got no clue as to why it is doing this and it's very frustrating. My CPU states 100% too but I'm unsure why. I've tired both x264 and NVENC.

PC Specs;

Processor; i7-4770k
Graphics Card; ROG 1080ti
RAM; GSkill Ripjaws 16GB
Motherboard; Maximus Hero VI

What preset are you using? I have a 8700k and if I crank it up to high it'll destroy my fps. What I ended up doing is switching to NVENC (1070ti) and setting it to max / high quality. Game runs smooth as heck with great visuals. I would *guess it's your processor getting overworked so if you're sticking with x264 I would try a lower setting.

Or... Since you have a 1080 use NVENC. For references sake my settings...
Bitrate: 30,000
Preset: High Quality
Profile: High
Level: Auto
GPU: )
B-Frames 2

Playing to the maximum has those consecutences.
This is going to hurt you more than me. Buy a new computer :)

Now seriously:
1 - Update the graphics card. delete the current OBS and download it again
2 - Encode: x264
-- Apply encoders
3 - CBR: (depends about your internet)
4 - CPU = veryFast
5 - Perfil CPU = Main
6 - B-Frames 2
7 - Preset: Twitch or default
If this does not work, I think I was not too joking with what I said.

I've got it set as
Encoder: x264
Bitrate: 2500
Preset: Veryfast
Profile: High

but I'll try out yours in a sec and see if that does anything different. Also guys will Media Sources like moving parts effect it too?

Dont use 30000 bitrate because you'd need a 240mbps upload speed and the people watching would need that too for it to play out smoothly.

I recommend doing what @drakgoku1 said

UPDATE.

Hey guys,

So I uninstalled OBS + restarted the computer to make sure it was completely gone and reinstalled. What I've done is use what YaliE has said but put my bitrate to 6,000. I also got rid of all the animated overlays that I had. There was absolutely no issues when I just tested the stream just now for about 10 minutes and I held 100fps throughout!

I'll pass over a link and you guys can see https://www.twitch.tv/videos/349218935.

Thanks for all the help and I think we've nailed it. Might not have to get a new system after all and I can now start to stream my game-play where I can show my 33kills and 2deaths games!
