When selecting a file as media source, does OBS stream both sound and video?

It seems when I am on cam sites, but not using live cam, using a prerecorded video file instead, OBS does not broadcast the sound, only the video.

Check Advanced Audio Properties of the Media (or VLC?) Source - make sure it isn't Monitor Only. It needs to (also) Output (to Recording/Stream)
