Question / Help What video editor should I use to maintain quality?

ive noticed that using variable bitrate on a lot of my recordings gives me super small file sizes while maintaining all the image quality. when i take it into video editors like sony vegas and adobe premiere (fairly old versions) that the rendered result from them has pixelation when a lot of moving happens on the video as well as larger file sizes. what video editors maintain the small file sizes and image quality as the raw recordings of obs?

1. Get a modern Video editor. https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/post-production-tools-you-can-use.234/
2.Since you're starting out with compressed (very lossy) material, and you're exporting it back to a compressed very lossy format, to retain the same quality usually you'll end up with a bigger file.

Also those older programs use older versions of the h264 codec which isn't as clean/efficient as the newer versions, and OBS uses the best/most efficient version known (the one provided by the x264-lib people) so unless the program you're using has the same (which Premiere and Vegas do NOT) you'll never get similar quality at similar settings/bitrates.

those video editors you linked to are pretty mediocre. i tested some of them and the quality seemed good but the editing is a joke.
