What to do if the audience can't hear the sound when playing a video file using OBS's virtual webcam?

Virtual cam is video only, it doesn't carry audio. You need a virtual audio driver like BlackHole (free) to bridge that gap. In OBS go to Settings > Audio and set the Monitoring Device to BlackHole, then open Advanced Audio Properties and set your video file source to "Monitor and Output." On the receiving end (Zoom, Teams, whatever your audience is on) just pick BlackHole as the microphone input.
