Hello,
i have a not so bad Computer, i want to make a use from it's performance.
What i want:
- Recording Games (First Person ones.)
- Quality is important
- I don't want to make 4GB files of a 5Min video. If it will take like 500mb-1GB per 5min is okay.
- 60Fps

My Rig:
2x E5-2680 8x3.5Ghz (Total 16x3.5Ghz) (Cinebench R15 = 2200cb)
64GB DDR3 ECC RAM
SSD Klevv Urban 1TB (1000GB)
Zotac 980ti AMP Extreme 1433Mhz
1080p Monitor

In your case its testing through different Settings since theres only a handful out there using such a Hardware for OBS.

I Would suggest 1080p60 on slow Preset with a 5000 Bitrate as a start, crf=18 as a custom x264 command and cfr checked.

Check this: https://www.reddit.com/r/Twitch/comments/47bzdc/budget_friendly_secondary_streaming_pc_guide/d1a2c88

If you're just recording and not streaming, then you'll want to keep your duplicated frames very low and have a decent bitrate.

Follow the guide here: https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/obs-classic-how-to-make-high-quality-local-recordings.16 but set the CRF to something like 16 and a preset of Slow or Medium. If you're getting duplicated frames, use a faster Preset.

This is really overkill for local recording, by the way. Disk space is cheap, trying to keep filesize small is not a good tradeoff for the initial recording.
